Please note: All our work is copyrighted material. Please check the copyright laws before trying to pirate any of our publications.

Under current law, we have the copyright of the human-authored parts of our Graphic Novels and Comics, like the script, dialogues, lettering, and the overall page layout etc. The individual AI-generated images themselves are not copyrighted and are generally considered to be in the public domain.

No universal treaty specifically covers generative AI yet, but older foundations dictate how countries treat the hybrid content. Signed by over 180 countries, the Berne Convention states that copyright is automatic upon creation. Article 2(6) mandates that protection operates strictly for the benefit of a "natural human author" or their legal successors. Under this treaty, the human-created elements gets automatic international copyright.

Administered by the World Trade Organization (WTO), TRIPS protects "compilations of data or other material" that show intellectual creativity in our selection or arrangement. Our publicatios' unique panel layouts, balloon placements, and image choices etc., perfectly fit this definition. Our structure (the page layout and overall design of the publication) is protected globally under TRIPS, even if the raw assets within it are not.

In the UK,  we actually own the copyright to the raw images via our prompt engineering.

In Pakistan, our work is protected under Copyright Ordinance, 1962, and the directives of Intellectual Property Organisation of Pakistan (IPO-Pakistan). All Human elements fall under this governing law and are protected (human elements include but are not limited to, narrative, story, dialogue, descriptions, script, page layouts and overall publication design). The copyright law in Pakistan affirms that copyright protection is automatic upon creation in Pakistan, meaning we do not even strictly need formal IPO registration to claim ownership over our work.
